FUNCTIONS AND MODE OF OPERATION The inductive reactive current required by induction motors for the three-phase magnetic field is an additional load on the power supply network, lines and switching devices. It also increases the expenditure for the energy to be paid to the Electrical Power Supply Utility, although the so-called reactive energy is, de facto, no real energy consumption. This inductive reactive current will be compensated by means of a Power Factor Controller with the related capacitor units.
